Remembering My Rescue Day!
Hi Friends! Today is a day that is hard for me to post about! Momma says it’s important that we remember where we were, and how far we have come! Today is the day that my Momma drove 12 hours round trip to meet a Pilots for Paws flight to pick me up. I was her first foster pup, and also her first foster fail. When I came to Momma I had spent all 9 years of my life in a puppy mill. Every human besides my hero Sheila that had ever touched me had not been kind. When Auntie Sheila took me away from the mean humans she promised I’d be safe. I didn’t know what that meant. I was so afraid! A lot happened in my first 9 days of freedom. I got the neuter, I had most of my teeth pulled, I went to a grooomer, and then I got on a plane to fly north. Fast forward 7 years, boy is being safe and loved amazing! I sleep every night in Momma’s bed, I eat my dinner on a special mat on the couch (Momma makes every piece bite size), I get to go to work with Momma where my job is to be cute and make people smile. I’ve even gotten to travel to the south and see my human sister and brother in law. Best of all I have been given a big voice for all the voiceless pups still stuck in puppy mills. I live every day now for my motto ‘Little guys like me can do big things’.
So today I ask that each of you do one small act of kindness, and tell someone you love them.
